The reason I'm bothering with javascript & canvas is to make good on being inspired by Bret Victor's example of interactive explanation of a small-world network. At the time I read it, I had an impending presentation that would touch on Raluca Popa's (& et al) CryptDB system. I imagined that I could have made a little graphic demo of the consequences of executing different sql queries on the cryptographic strength of the database fields. But, I ran out of time. So, I guess I'm now equipped to do so.
