Finally seriously impacted by NotScripts, a chrome extension that supresses unapproved javascript on sites I visit. I saw cheeaun's cool timeline page via hacker news. So, I downloaded a copy to modify & put up here. But, when I tried to run it locally, Chrome kept reporting a TypeError for a new Date() object. Tried extracting, no dice. Try php server instead of python, same thing.
Finally, I give in & check if the problem was cross browser. IExplorer serves the page up just fine. Unfortunately, I was interrupted, but returned to the same success via Firefox. I was inching my way toward asking on SuperUser or finding a chrome forum, when I noticed someone casually suggest checking whether Js was turned off. Guess what 'site' NotScripts had blocked...
Tried to earn the "Akimbo Assassin" achievement in Left 4 Dead solo. Unfortunately, after playing through three stages, the Director put a witch in a climax point room. Annoyed, I decided to off her with the adjacent minigun before activating the zombie horde. Whoops: forty minutes wasted.
Finally changing this site to a series of twig templates with inheritence. ... Oh god it's so PO.WER.FUL.
L4D2 is so complicated with all these different guns. I am pleased, though, that it's a more vital community than the original. Product of youth, of course.
Goaded into using Opera broswer by firefilter's slow response times. Most of the essentials are the same. Noticed some dubious link dragging, but IE is guilty of that too. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it rendered the unstyled rss of this site nicely. (Others render as plain text; it did columns.)
Got vacation scheduler to prototype state. Showed to father (it is eventually for him). Uploaded here, not sure about github. Probably.
Template update => full site reupload. Is it time for a gui sftp yet?
Played 114 rounds of Counter Strike with bots after installation. (3 hours.) This feels more straightforward than Team Fortress, as we are all fighting with mostly the same equipment. So many maps & skins to learn, though.
Finally found my second clean-bottle, the plastic one. (These have caps on both the bottom & the top, so I can put them in the dishwasher.) Someone had put it under my sister's sink.
Resolved hand copied headers for special autobio pages by putting a block of stuff in the header. Yay
Grr, meeting location closed. So, we were in the parking lot tonight.
